Threadneedle appoints wholesale directors for Asia
Threadneedle has appointed three senior Sales Directors to cover Wholesale markets in Asia. Gerard Clancy, Richmond Herrera and Kent Ng all join Threadneedle this month, reporting to Michael Langlois, Head of Wholesale Distribution in Asia Pacific.
Mr Clancy, Mr Herrera and Mr Ng will work with Asian financial institutions and global private banks in the region, to offer high net worth investors access to Threadneedle’s outstanding performance track record.

Gerard brings a wealth of investment management experience which will assist our distributors to provide the best solutions for their clients’ investment needs. Richmond and Kent have extremely strong relationships and financial services experience. This is a significant step forward for us as we build our strategy and capabilities for Wholesale markets across Asia”.
Gerard Clancy, Sales Director, Wholesale Distribution, Asia Pacific, came from BlackRock where he was Director of Sales with responsibility for strategy execution and wholesaling of investment management products to private banks, retail banks and IFAs in Asia ex-Japan. Before the merger of Merrill Lynch Investment Managers and BlackRock, Mr Clancy held a variety of sales and management positions with Merrill Lynch in New York, London, Singapore and Hong Kong. He brings 15 years industry experience and is based in Singapore.
Richmond Herrera, Sales Director, Wholesale Distribution, South East Asia, held a number of senior relationship manager roles in the private banking sector in Asia. He joins Threadneedle from Standard Chartered Bank, where he was responsible for developing the Philippines’ offshore private banking business. Prior to that, he was a Director of Investments and Private Wealth Management at Merrill Lynch International in Singapore. He joined Merrill Lynch from Citibank in 2006. Mr Herrera is based in Singapore.
Kent Ng, Sales Director, Wholesale Distribution, Greater China, is a senior relationship manager with extensive experience in the private wealth market. Mr Ng was with Merrill Lynch Global Wealth Management Group for 11 years before joining Threadneedle. He was the Market Manager covering the Hong Kong market where he led and supervised a team of over 60 private wealth managers. He is based in Hong Kong.
