Great Eastern targets 20% share of Malaysia's takaful market
Great Eastern Takaful Sdn Bhd aims to capturing about 20 percent of the market share by year end.
That would make it among the top three companies in the local takaful business.
Chief executive officer Mohamad Salihuddin Ahmad said the company's newly launched Takaful plan, the i-Early Payout CriticalCare or i-EPCC, would be the key to achieving the target.
i-EPCC is the first Takaful plan in Malaysia that pays early stages of various critical illnesses as well as one of the major riders that can be attached to i-Great Damai, GETSB's pioneer investment linked product.
"Currently, 80 percent of our i-Great Damai certificate holders have attached to our Critical Illness Benefit Rider.
"We target 50 percent from that 80 percent will extend the attachment to i-EPCC," he told reporters after launching the Takaful plan here Wednesday.
