ECM segment to propel OSK Investment further

Both 2009 and 2010 had been good years for the Equity Capital Markets department of OSK Investment Bank.

“Suffice to say, we have participated or played a role in most of the larger capital-raising exercises in 2010,” Gan Kim Khoon, head of OSK Invetsment's ECM department affirmed.

On the IPO front, the head of equity market divulged that OSK Investment was ranked second in terms of the number of new issues underwritten.

Speaking on Sarawak and Sabah, Gan was aware of a proportionate share of the group’s clients in these two states in recent years.

“Over the last two years, we have completed a couple of fairly large capital raising exercises for some Sarawak-based companies and are presently in the midst of raising capital for another Sarawak-based listed company.

“We do intend to tap into the relatively under-served market space in Sarawak and Sabah and our strong presence there will definitely give us a competitive edge,” he concluded.
